B&I Client – Fairground Café

As part of a workplace transformation programme, RDA were appointed to design and install a cafe, at this large London B&I campus site. The client brief was to remove the existing coffee pod, situated at the under-used end of a large atrium space, and replace it with a stunning new café in the opposite end. Making it the first place both employees and visitors land on arrival into the building. The design of this café required complex mechanical and electrical works due to its location, and the expertise of a structural engineer, expert fabricator’s and floor layers. Materials were mindfully chosen to align with the client’s environmental policies. Countertops made from post-industrial plastic, floor tiles containing recycled content, FSC certified wood only and of course highly efficient equipment that uses less energy & water. Best-in-class ModBar coffee making equipment was installed, providing both operational excellence and first-class customer experience. The result, a stunning, contemporary café that now draws people to the space and is used throughout the day.
