B&I Client – Mezzaluna Salad Bar

As part of a workplace transformation programme, RDA were appointed to design and install a new destination salad bar counter at this large London B&I campus site. Having removed a small coffee pod from this under-used end of their atrium, the brief was to provide the workforce with a destination healthy food outlet. Both drawing people to this part of the space and providing them with more of the cuisine they love. Not only did this build need to satisfy the particular operational needs of this bespoke made salad bar, it also had to compliment the wider environment aesthetically. The colour and materials palette was carefully considered, and maintained a connection to the wider seating area and Fairground Café at the opposite end of the atrium. The countertop was made from post-industrial recycled plastics, large counter front tiles contained recycled materials and paint on all joinery contained no VOC’s. The result, a contemporary food outlet akin to those found in high-end food hall venues, that encourages customers to make healthier choices when dining.
