Blackrock - Edinburgh

Following a successful project for this global client at their London office, RDA were appointed to provide specialist catering design support for a large ambitious relocation project for their Edinburgh base. Part of their global programme of workplace modernisation. Working in collaboration with the client, catering operator, and architect, RDA designed an operationally excellent large production kitchen, back-of-house, dishwash, stills and pantry spaces that could support the business needs across employee dining, hospitality and events. BREAAM principles were followed to minimise the project’s environmental impact, and there were also careful considerations when designing areas adjacent to the buildings listed facade. Front-of-house design was focused on the main employee dining area and atrium cafe. Providing spaces that perfectly support the catering operators culinary programme, and provided colleagues a place to eat, meet and relax. Following a successful tender RDA were also appointed to undertake the fit-out of all areas they had designed, supporting local main contractor Robertson Construction. The project has recently been awarded the BCO Scotland Corporate Workplace award.
