Cranfield University Kitchen

RDA was appointed to this redesign the main production kitchen at the Cranfield Management Development Centre (part of Cranfield University). Future-proofing, eliminating ‘dead areas’ and maximising energy efficiency were all key aspects of this demanding brief. As a full turnkey project, works included installing new extractions and ventilation systems, new cold and freezer rooms and bespoke fabrication, including a unique ‘one-piece top’ cooking island which was welded on site. The project also included upgrading the staff mess facilities with a dedicated servery and refrigerated space. The result, a more efficient and operationally sound facility, with additional space now providing valuable storage areas.
