In 2022 Burnley F.C. created a new match day hospitality environment in the form of a pitch-side restaurant in the North Stand, and mobilised this in time for start of the 2022/23 football season. In 2023 RDA were approached to assist the club in achieving the same in their East Stand. The brief, to create a hospitality space which is truly unique, both in its situation behind the goal line, and in its new sports bar and dining experience within. The aspiration, have it ready for the beginning of the 2023 season in August. In order to achieve this substantial building works were undertaken, knocking all the individual boxes into one large space. Flexibility was a key part of the brief, so we ensured that the space could be reconfigured to suit match days, non match days and conferencing + events. With a modular approach to the design, the majority of the space can now be cleared and re-zoned to suit a variety of different furniture layouts. In turn, the overall interior aesthetic also needed to be interchangeable and flex for match day and non match day set-ups. We ensured that each scenario felt fit for purpose and in no way contrived. This large scale project was undertaken in 6 months, from conception to completion.
